About

ONTOSEARCH2 is a search and query engine for ontologies and ontological data on the Semantic Web. It allows ad-hoc queries across hundreds of OWL files using the SPARQL query language.

It can perform adhoc SPARQL queries across a repository of OWL data. By reducing the complexity of OWL to that of DL-Lite (a more tractable description logic) we can run these queries much faster than an equivalent system (see the paper linked below for more information). To use the system, there are two options. Either Query across the repository as it stands, or update the repository with additional information from the Semantic Web and then run your query.

Existing information within the repository can be updated by resubmitting the same URI for reprocessing, but it is currently not possible to remove data from the repository.

For technical information about this service, please read the paper "ONTOSEARCH2: SEARCHING AND QUERYING WEB ONTOLOGIES". For information on how to use the service, please see the help page.

If you would like exclusive use of ONTOSEARCH2, please contact Dr Jeff Z. Pan.

ONTOSEARCH2 is currently undergoing a lot of development work, and more advanced features will be added soon. Please email or for more information.
